
The 18th Annual Leamington Greenhouse Competition took place last week in Leamington, Ontario. With over 190 product entries from the region’s leading growers, this competition has become a showcase of innovation, quality, and flavor.
Pure Flavor
Pure Flavor® took home multiple top honors. Known for its premium, greenhouse-grown fruits and vegetables—including the award-winning Red Royals™ and Tiki™ tomatoes—Pure Flavor® wowed judges and consumers alike with its flavor-forward innovations.
The company claimed the following accolades:
• Best Mini Cucumber – Seedless Mini Cucumbers
• Best Bell Pepper – Red Bell Pepper
• Best Specialty Berry – Sweet Blooms Blackberries
• Chef’s Choice – Sweetgreen Grape Tomato
• Chef’s Choice – Sweet Blooms Strawberries
• People’s Choice: Best Overall Pepper – Orange Bell Pepper

Mastronardi Produce
Mastronardi Produce took home 23 awards for its SUNSET® brand. SUNSET’s flavors received the competition’s designations for “Hottest Tomato” and “Best Berry”, along with seven first-place awards. Notably, four SUNSET products won the Chef’s Choice Award, including the SUNSET SHAZAAM! Shishito Peppers, Wild Wonders® orange sweet long peppers, Aloha® Bell Pepper, and Y.E.L.O.® Cocktail Tomato.

Red Sun Farms
Red Sun Farms™ is proud to announce that Sweetpops™ Tomatoes won Hottest Tomato – Best Bite Size Tomato and Empress Purple Tomato won the People Choice Hottest Tomato award.

Nature Fresh Farms also captured 16 awards from across four categories: cucumbers, peppers, berries, and tomatoes. Its awards include:

- People’s Choice Best Berry: Nature Fresh Farms Raspberries
- Chef’s Choice: Nature Fresh Farms Raspberries
- Best Hothouse Hot Pepper: Nature Fresh Farms Hottie Jalapeno Pepper
- Best Hothouse Cocktail Cucumber: Nature Fresh Farms Lil’ Chills Cocktail Cukes
- Best Hothouse Specialty Long Pepper: Nature Fresh Farms Red Sweet S’NAPS Pepper
The company also earned multiple second and third-place awards for many other products.

The competition
The Leamington Greenhouse Competition is a celebration of Essex County, home to the highest concentration of greenhouses in North America. More than just a showcase of some the region’s finest produce, the event supports a powerful mission that uplifts underprivileged children and families through education, healthcare, and community empowerment. All funds raised from the Greenhouse Competitions help support the building of schools, medical clinics, and water wells, and sponsor and care for impoverished children and families in Uganda, Africa.
