Washington, D.C.—(ENEWSPF)—Williams Farms Repack LLC is recalling Tomatoes sizes: 4×5 2-layer, 60ct 2-layer, 3ct trays in the Williams Farms Repack label, and 5×6 25lb, 6×6 25lb H&C Farms Label, due to a potential contamination of Salmonella. Salmonella is an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or older people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections (i.e., infected aneurysms), endocarditis, and arthritis.
On April 29, 2025, Southeast Tomato Distributors notified the firm via telephone that tomatoes supplied from H&C Farms may be contaminated with Salmonella. The tomato recall process began at that time.
There are no reports of illnesses to date.
